Please visit Traci Suppa’s new family travel blog, “Go BIG or Go Home.” This infrequent, yet frequently-humorous blog chronicles what happens when her small-town family visits the “world’s largest”…whatever!  We hit the road to seek out the world’s largest bowling pin, kaleidoscope, or light bulb, then rate the attraction so you can decide whether to Go BIG, or stay home!

  1. Hello! Just discovered GoBig and would like to suggest you consider a trip to Luray Caverns in Virginia’s northern Shenandoah Valley.
*largest & most popular caverns in eastern America
*world’s largest natural musical instrument, the Great Stalacpipe Organ; see http://www.luraycaverns.com/Education/CaveScience/PopupTest/tabid/608/Default.aspx
*free w/ caverns admission: self guided tour of vintage vehicles, incl. one of oldest motorized vehicles, 1892 Benz
*also free w/ caverns admission: Luray Valley Museum, housing very rare 1500s Bible, one of world’s first printed in vernacular (rather than Latin)in both Old & New Testaments.
Nearby: Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah National Park, fabled Shenandoah River, New Market Battlefield
    Thanks for your consideration.

  2. Thanks for the suggestion, Cornelia! We passed it on our road trip last month but unfortunately didn’t have time to stop. Having enjoyed visiting Howe Caverns here in NY, I do hope to get there someday!
